The next 30th Annual Meeting of EAA, the European Association of Archaeologists, will be held in Rome from 28 to 31 August.

After three decades of existence, the EAA goes to Rome, the "eternal city", aware of the continuous changes in the material (and social) sphere of the City, caused by natural and/or geopolitical events over the centuries. This makes the thought of the evolution of the urban landscape, the change of archaeological layers, and the process of transformation of buildings fascinating.

The entire conference will take place in hybrid form, for the third time in our history, and we intend to keep it in this mode. The Staff and the Council, the Italian organizers as well as the 2024 Scientific Committee are committed to the finish line, with all the organisational, logistical, and financial issues, but also very much regarding the contents and the program.

In light of the ongoing war events, EAA will stick to its principles: no membership fees and no registration fees for Ukrainian EAA members, and the possibility for Russian and Belarusian members to participate without institutional affiliation.

See you in Rome!
